OUR HISTORY
Founded in 2003, the Monash University Italian Club (MUIC) is building a strong, active and enduring Italian-Australian community network.
We have consistently run events which showcase the great contributions Italians have been making in Australia for more than 80 years, as well as providing opportunities for cultural connection by collaborating with other clubs and societies from Monash University and other tertiary institutions.
In 2023, we were proudly awarded the "Club Of The Year (Category B)" Award at the Monash University Clubs And Societies Awards Night.
OUR VISION
As a leading cultural club at Monash University, we aim to connect students of all backgrounds with Italian culture and language through a variety of immersive activities and experiences.
We hope to facilitate the cultural enrichment of as many lives as possible by cultivating curiosity and friendship amongst students from different faculties of the university.
We also hope to strengthen our connections with the wider Italian-Australian community to provide students more options to continue to connect with the Italian culture during and after graduating from their time at university.
OUR MEMBERS
Every Monash University student is welcome to become a member of our club via the Monash Clubs And Societies website.
Anyone of any cultural or linguistic background is encouraged to sign up and learn more about what we are about!
Clayton campus students can hold ordinary membership rights and students of other Monash campuses can hold ancillary membership rights.
Non Monash students are always welcome at our events - if you have any questions about how to get a membership or what is entailed in your membership rights, just contact us!
